Our work & travel program
At Hostel Ruthensteiner, we embrace the tradition of work and travel. We welcome volunteers to go native & join our little tribe for a while, contributing their unique talents and perspectives to our hostel community.
Being a working traveler here you will be able to make yourself a home away from home in a beautifully international and diverse atmosphere where friendly faces are guaranteed ???? The Work&Travel program is an opportunity to begin friendships, and gather unforgettable experiences together with travelers from all around the world

What are your tasks?
Your main job will be to be at home and make others feel the same way by keeping an open mind in a communicative and receptive way, looking after a respectful and friendly environment.
You will also be taking care of tasks that are simple but necessary, helping a bit in each area of the hostel: Reception, bar, breakfast, and housekeeping and maintenance. You will also be running activities such as game evenings, visits to different places in the city, and cooking family meals together with fellow work&travelers for you and guests.

Please note that a stay of minimum 6 weeks and maximum 3 months, as well as a valid working permit for Austria are required.

The best and more organized volunteering experience I had (it's the 5th). Fair working hours, tasks and shifts. Freedom to decide the schedule with your volunteers coworkers weekly so you can plan your trips! Very well located and allows you to explore the near cities and counties! The menagement have meetings with the volunteers to see what can be improved and to listen to us, very nice!
